Every Thursday morning at 11:30 o’clock we offer a walk in guided tour at Arktikum. This affordable experience is specifically tailored for interested independent tourists and small groups of travelers to provide a first impression to local culture, history, and Lappish and Arctic nature.

You will be guided in an insightful and entertaining fashion, and will experience various objects, installations, pictures and maps about Lapland, Finland and the Arctic.

You will learn how animals and humans, for example the indigenous Sámi people, live in the Arctic climate. How does climate change affect the Arctic, and how will climatic and environmental changes in the Arctic affect other parts of the world? What happened during the Second World war in Finnish Lapland and how did Finnish Lapland develop after the war?

The guided tour in English takes one hour. Please meet your guide at the entrance of Arktikum. Tickets to the Arktikum museum are included in the price of the guided tour.
